Daft punkDebut studio album homework celebrates 23 years!
Although the duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo only broke out technically with their second album, Discovery – Homework best celebrates the project's early roots. The record, released on January 20, 1997 via Virgin Records and Soma Quality Recordings, showed Daft Punk in its roughest form before it exploded.
It should be noted that homework was done before the producers were turned into robots – a groundbreaking concept that they first introduced in 1999. There used to be “One More Time” and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” – that was the sound there was defined daft punk.
